At our August outdoor networking event, we had the chance to meet Aureus Audit, an organisation offering specialist financial support for charities, CICs and not-for-profit organisations.

For many charities and community organisations, finance can be one of the areas that feels most difficult to manage. Alongside delivering services, supporting communities, applying for funding and managing day-to-day pressures, organisations also need to think about reporting, governance, compliance, accounts and financial planning.
That is where the right support can make a real difference.
Supporting Charities with Finance, Governance and Compliance
Aureus Audit works with charities to help make financial reporting, governance and compliance feel more manageable.
Their charity-focused services include support around audit, independent examination, management accounts, statutory accounts, trustee training, board consultancy and payroll.
For charity leaders and trustees, this kind of support can be incredibly useful. Good financial information does more than help an organisation meet its requirements. It can also help trustees make better decisions, understand risk, plan ahead and feel more confident about the future.
Why Charity Finance Matters
Charities are built around purpose, but they still need strong systems behind them.
Clear accounts, accurate reporting and good governance all help protect the organisation, reassure funders and donors, and support long-term sustainability.
For smaller charities, CICs and community groups, this can be especially important. Many organisations are led by small teams, volunteers or trustees who are already carrying a lot of responsibility. Having access to practical, specialist guidance can help reduce uncertainty and give organisations more confidence in what they need to do next.
Free Resources for Charities
Aureus Audit has also created a collection of free charity finance resources.
These resources are designed to help charities, CICs and not-for-profit organisations better understand their financial responsibilities. They include practical tools, templates and checklists that may be useful when preparing annual accounts, thinking about reporting requirements, or getting ready for an independent examination or audit.
For organisations that are short on time or unsure where to start, resources like these can be a helpful first step.
A Helpful Resource for the Sector
At The Charity Hub, we are always interested in sharing useful support that can help charities and community organisations feel more informed, prepared and confident.
Finance, governance and reporting may not always be the most visible parts of running a good cause, but they are essential. They help organisations stay accountable, plan properly and continue delivering support to the people and communities who need them.
Aureus Audit’s charity support and free resources may be useful for trustees, charity leaders, finance teams and community organisations looking for practical guidance around their financial responsibilities.
