Why October’s Charity Hub Networking Event Is the Next Step on the Road to the Conference
The next Charity Hub networking event will take place on Thursday 8 October 2026, and this one has a slightly different feel.

As we move closer to The Great British Charity Conference in November, our October event will form part of the Road to the Conference. It will be a chance to bring people together before the bigger conference day arrives, helping charities, CICs, community organisations, businesses, suppliers and local partners start useful conversations now.
The event is free to attend and will run at the usual time of 9:30am to 12:00pm. Venue and guest details are still being confirmed, and we will share those updates as soon as they are finalised.
What we can say now is that the purpose of the event remains the same: to create a welcoming and practical space where people doing good work can meet, talk, share ideas and find out where support might exist.
A Room Full of Useful Conversations
Networking can sometimes sound like a formal word, but at The Charity Hub it is much simpler than that.
It is about people getting into the same room and having conversations that might not happen anywhere else. A charity might meet a local business that wants to offer support. A CIC might find another organisation facing a similar challenge. A supplier might discover a better way to support good causes. A new organisation might simply meet people who understand what it is like to build something from the ground up.
These conversations matter because the third sector often works under pressure. Time is limited, resources are stretched, and many organisations are trying to do more than their capacity allows. Being connected to the right people can make that work feel less isolated.
That is why the October networking event is important. It gives people a chance to step away from the day-to-day for a morning and reconnect with the wider community around them.
Building Towards November
The Great British Charity Conference will take place in November and will bring together charities, CICs, funders, businesses, public-sector teams and sector leaders for a wider conversation around funding, social value, partnerships, growth and the future of the third sector.
The October networking event is a natural step towards that.
It gives people the chance to start thinking about those themes early. What support does your organisation need? What partnerships would help you move forward? What conversations would be useful before the conference arrives? Who do you need to meet?
Not every useful connection starts with a formal introduction. Sometimes it begins with a simple chat over coffee, a shared challenge, or someone saying, “We might be able to help with that.”
Collaboration Starts Before the Big Day
The November conference will be a major moment for The Charity Hub, but the work of collaboration does not begin and end with one event.
The Road to the Conference is about building momentum before we get there.
October’s networking event will help people reconnect, introduce themselves, share what they are working on and explore where future conversations might lead. For some attendees, it may be their first Charity Hub event. For others, it may be a chance to catch up with people they have met before and strengthen those relationships.
Both matter.
The third sector is built on trust, and trust often develops through repeated contact. The more people know who is out there, what they do and what they need, the easier it becomes to work together.
Free, Accessible and Open to Good Causes
The October Charity Hub networking event is free to attend.
Our networking events are proudly sponsored by Stride Yorkshire, whose support helps us keep them accessible for charities, CICs, community groups, businesses and individuals who want to make a positive difference.
The event is open to charities, CICs, community organisations, suppliers, businesses, funders, public-sector partners and anyone who supports good causes through their work.
You do not need to have attended before. You do not need to arrive with a polished pitch. You just need to be open to conversation, connection and collaboration.
