Job Opportunity: Community Organiser at Sheffield Cathedral
Sheffield Cathedral is looking for a Community Organiser to help build relationships, develop local leadership and support collective action across Sheffield.
The new role forms part of the Cathedral Resourcing Project and will involve working with the Cathedral, parish partnerships, local communities and civic organisations across the city.
The successful applicant will spend time listening to community priorities, identifying and developing local leaders and helping people move from shared concerns towards practical action. The role also contributes to the development of the Sheffield Citizens Alliance.
Sheffield Cathedral is looking for someone who is confident building relationships with people from different communities and backgrounds, and who can work constructively around issues relating to justice and the common good.
The position is open to people of all faiths and none, although applicants will need to be comfortable working within the Cathedral's public mission and inclusive Christian values.
This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week, fixed term until 31 December 2028. The role is based across Sheffield Cathedral and partner locations, with some hybrid working available by agreement.
Salary: £36,000 per year plus pension
