About the role

Sheffield Cathedral is recruiting a new Community Organiser within its Cathedral Resourcing Project. The post will build relationships across the Cathedral, parish partnerships and civic institutions, identify and develop local leaders, listen to community priorities and help people move from shared concerns towards collective action. The role contributes to the development of the Sheffield Citizens Alliance.

About you

The Cathedral is looking for a relational and organised person who can build trust across different communities and work constructively around issues of justice and the common good. The post is open to people of all faiths and none, although the successful applicant will need to work sympathetically within the Cathedral’s public mission and inclusive Christian values.

Working arrangements

The role is 37.5 hours per week, including some evening and weekend work, and is fixed term until 31 December 2028. Work will take place at Sheffield Cathedral and partner locations, with some hybrid working possible by agreement.
