Youth Jobs Grant
About the fund
The Department for Work and Pensions Youth Jobs Grant helps employers provide sustained paid employment to eligible young people. A participating employer can receive £3,000 for a qualifying job, with £1,800 payable after six weeks and £1,200 after 18 weeks, subject to verified earnings and scheme conditions.
Who can apply
Employers, including third-sector organisations, must operate in Great Britain, be registered with HMRC, have at least six months of active trading, and pass due diligence checks. The recruited young person must be aged 18–24, receiving Universal Credit and have been unemployed for at least six months. The job must be registered and meet all programme requirements.
Closing date
The government advert states 31 October 2028 at 11:59pm. This is employer recruitment support rather than a grant for young people to apply for directly.
