Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) in Schools Grant Scheme

About the grant

The Department for Education is inviting applications to design and install sustainable drainage systems at schools in England. The scheme aims to reduce surface-water flooding while offering potential biodiversity, water-quality and climate-resilience benefits. Eligible projects can receive up to 50% of overall project costs, subject to conditions.

Who can apply

Eligible delivery providers include non-profit organisations, state-funded schools and some other specified public or water-sector organisations in England. Applications must address both design and installation, demonstrate school-site need, identify proposed sites and meet the programme’s match-funding and delivery conditions.

Closing date

Applications and all required supporting evidence must be submitted by Monday 2 November 2026 at 5pm.
