Reaching Communities England
About the fund
Reaching Communities England provides £20,001 to £1 million for projects lasting up to five years. It prioritises places and communities experiencing poverty, disadvantage or discrimination and work that helps people shape the decisions affecting their lives. Projects must also support community connection, children and young people, health equality or environmental sustainability.
Who can apply
Eligible organisations working with communities in England include voluntary and community organisations with a written constitution, registered charities, CIOs, not-for-profit companies limited by guarantee, CICs, community benefit and co-operative societies, schools and public bodies. Partnerships are eligible with an accountable lead, and specified non-charitable structures need an asset lock.
Applications and material conditions
The programme is open to applications and has no published closing date, so it is treated as rolling. The application process has two stages and currently takes around 40 weeks. New applications must focus on projects in one English region; since 1 June 2026 the funder has stopped accepting new national or multi-region projects through this programme. Most awards are below £500,000, and applicants seeking more than £500,000 should contact the funder first.
