Prevention Accelerator
About the fund
The Prevention Accelerator is a South Yorkshire Integrated Care Board programme administered by South Yorkshire's Community Foundation. It will support 20 to 25 projects helping people who have, or are at risk of, cardiovascular conditions, kidney disease and diabetes in Doncaster and Sheffield.
Who can apply
Not-for-profit groups must be based in Doncaster or Sheffield and deliver clear benefits for residents there. Applicants need a relevant track record in health creation or prevention and trusted community relationships. The fund prioritises deprived communities, Global Majority communities and men aged 40 to 74, with particular interest in Central Doncaster and Hyde Park, Burngreave and Grimesthorpe, and Woodthorpe. CICs must meet the published governance, asset-lock, financial and banking conditions.
Funding and delivery
Single organisations can apply for up to £10,000; partnered or cross-area projects can seek up to £20,000, with larger proposals subject to prior discussion. Eligible activity may include physical activity, creative health and green or blue social prescribing, plus proportionate delivery, overhead and core costs. Projects must start no earlier than 15 February 2027 and finish by 31 March 2028, with bi-monthly monitoring and up to three further months of evaluation.
Closing date
