NHS Maternity Care Research Small Grants Programme

About the fund

South Yorkshire's Community Foundation is administering this NHS South Yorkshire programme to help shape more inclusive maternity and neonatal services. Grants of up to £4,500 will support trusted community organisations to gather stories, feedback and experiences from women and families who have used local services in the past two to three years.

Who can apply

Applicants must be constituted community, charity or not-for-profit organisations based in South Yorkshire and benefiting local people. They need an organisational bank account with at least two unrelated signatories, three unrelated committee members or trustees, and experience of working with the communities they propose to engage. Priority groups include communities experiencing deprivation and Global Majority communities in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.

Project requirements

Funding can cover staffing, volunteer costs, engagement resources, marketing, travel and a reasonable contribution to directly related overheads. Research and stories must be ready by the end of May 2027, and funded groups and participants must take part in a South Yorkshire listening event in June or July 2027.

Closing date

Monday 9 November 2026 at 9:00am.
